Pleasant Ridge is the smallest of Oakland County’s incorporated communities — six square blocks platted in 1913 as a streetcar suburb. The architectural inventory is concentrated and consistent: 1920s and 30s bungalows, Tudors, and colonials on tight lots that have been maintained across generations. The community is federally designated a historic district, and the homeowner culture is unusually active in stewardship.

Despite its size, Pleasant Ridge sits at the intersection of Woodward and I-696, putting it within minutes of both Detroit and northern Oakland County. The community has held its character without isolation.
